Burma Burma, a vegetarian restaurant chain, has raised about Rs 38 crore ($4 million) from existing investor Negen Capital and new investors Endurance Capital and Coheron Wealth.

The Burmese food-themed chain will use the fresh capital to expand into new cities and strengthen its presence in existing markets. It operates 21 restaurants across Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Chandigarh.

With this round, Burma Burma said it would be valued at Rs 500 crore post money. Three years ago, it had a valuation of Rs 150 crore.

“As consumer preferences continue to shift towards premium and experience-led dining, we see significant headroom to scale the brand,” said cofounder Chirag Chhajer.

Founded in 2012, the restaurant chain serves Burmese cuisine and a wide range of teas. It also sells Burmese ingredients, sauces and snacks through the Burma Burma Pantry.

“The current fundraise allows us to accelerate expansion while strengthening our presence in markets where the brand has already demonstrated strong traction,” said cofounder Ankit Gupta.

In FY25, the company clocked Rs 106 crore revenue, up 47% from Rs 71.8 crore a year earlier, according to Registrar of Companies (RoC) filings. The chain reduced its net loss to Rs 1.32 crore in FY25 from Rs 6.26 crore in FY24.

So far, Burma Burma has raised about $7 million funding, according to Tracxn data.

Commenting on the funding, Neil Bahal, founder of Negen Capital, said, “Burma Burma has always stood apart in a crowded dining landscape. Their pure vegetarian, alcohol-free identity only adds to this.”
