Aquapulse, an agritech startup dedicated to aquaculture, has successfully raised ₹25 crore (approximately $2.7 million) in its ongoing Series A funding round, led by NABVENTURES through its AgriSURE Fund.
The funds will be utilized to establish an in-house processing facility aimed at improving quality control and profit margins. A significant portion of the investment will also be directed towards expanding its network to 15,000 farmers in states such as Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and West Bengal, while enhancing its technological infrastructure.
The startup is focusing on developing advanced harvest systems and refining its transparent pricing model to better serve farmers.
Founded in 2022 by Abhishek and Abhilash Dwivedy, Aquapulse assists shrimp and fish farmers in optimizing their operations through technology. Its app provides tools for monitoring water quality, predicting shrimp growth, and managing feed, enabling farmers to make informed decisions and boost productivity while minimizing risks associated with disease management.
Aquapulse's pre-harvest systems track essential parameters like water quality, disease threats, and feed consumption to ensure efficient feeding and high-quality output.
By connecting farmers directly with buyers, Aquapulse helps them achieve better pricing and reduces reliance on intermediaries. The startup also offers digital advisory services to promote modern farming practices.
In terms of post-harvest operations, Aquapulse oversees grading, cold storage, logistics, and compliance, aiming to create India’s first integrated aquaculture ecosystem.
In the competitive landscape, Aquapulse faces rivals such as Eruvaka, Aquaconnect, and AquaExchange within the expanding Indian agritech sector.
India’s aquaculture industry, primarily driven by fish and shrimp production, sees shrimp as the leading seafood export, accounting for nearly 70% of total export value. The seafood export value has surged from ₹43,720.98 crore in FY21 to ₹62,408.45 crore in FY25, marking a growth of over 40%.
