Parallel Web Systems, an AI agent-tool startup established by former Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal, has successfully raised $100 million in its Series B funding round. This latest investment, led by Sequoia, elevates the company's valuation to $2 billion.
This funding comes only five months after the startup's previous $100 million Series A round, which valued the company at $740 million. With this latest round, Parallel Web Systems has now raised a total of $230 million.
The company specializes in providing web search and research APIs tailored for AI agents, serving notable clients such as Clay, Harvey, Notion, and Opendoor. Additionally, it claims to have over 100,000 developers utilizing its products.
Investor confidence in Agrawal's venture is particularly noteworthy given the challenges he faced during his tenure at Twitter, which ended amid a lawsuit following his termination by Elon Musk. Agrawal and other executives alleged non-payment of severance, a case that was settled in October.
This recent funding round not only reflects the growing interest in AI technologies but also underscores the potential of Parallel Web Systems in the competitive landscape of AI development.
