Anthropic has entered into a significant partnership with SpaceX, aimed at expanding its compute capacity for the Claude AI systems. This collaboration allows Anthropic to enhance its offerings, particularly for enterprise users, by increasing usage limits for Claude Code and the Claude API.
Key Changes Effective Immediately:
- Doubling the five-hour rate limits for Claude Code across Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans.
- Removing peak hour limit reductions for Pro and Max accounts on Claude Code.
- Substantial increases in API rate limits for Claude Opus models.
This partnership grants Anthropic access to over 300 megawatts of compute capacity at SpaceX's Colossus 1 data center, which includes more than 220,000 NVIDIA GPUs. This enhancement is expected to directly benefit Claude Pro and Max subscribers.
Additional Compute Developments:
In addition to the SpaceX agreement, Anthropic is actively exploring various hardware options for training and running Claude, including AWS Trainium, Google TPUs, and NVIDIA GPUs. The company is also considering the development of orbital AI compute capacity with SpaceX.
To meet the compliance needs of enterprise customers in regulated sectors such as finance and healthcare, Anthropic is expanding its infrastructure internationally. Collaborations with Amazon will facilitate additional capabilities in Asia and Europe.
Commitment to Community and Sustainability:
Anthropic has pledged to cover any increases in consumer electricity prices resulting from its U.S. data centers. The company is also looking to extend this commitment internationally and to invest in the communities surrounding its facilities.
New Features and Integrations:
In conjunction with these developments, Anthropic is launching ten new Cowork and Claude Code plugins, along with integrations for the Microsoft 365 suite and a new MCP app tailored for financial services and insurance sectors.
