Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Thursday said it has partnered with French AI startup Mistral for co-building custom AI models.

TCS is the first global systems integrator (GSI) partner for Mistral Forge — the company’s enterprise platform for building frontier AI systems, the company said in a statement.

As part of the collaboration, TCS will help enterprises and governments develop, fine-tune, and deploy custom AI models built over proprietary enterprise data. The partnership will initially focus on sectors such as banking, manufacturing, healthcare, and the public sector, where enterprises are increasingly seeking greater control, governance, and regulatory compliance around AI deployments,
TCS said.

TCS will also establish a Centre of Excellence for Mistral to drive joint AI innovation and provide clients with early access to Mistral’s beta AI models.

Arthur Mensch, co-founder and CEO of Mistral, said TCS’ enterprise reach makes it an important partner for scaling enterprise AI adoption globally.

“Together, we are enabling enterprises worldwide to move from experimentation to AI deployment with systems that are open, production-ready, and aligned with their strategic and operational requirements,” Mensch said.

TCS chief executive and managing director K Krithivasan said the partnership strengthens the company’s strategy of building trusted and controllable enterprise AI systems.

“The partnership with Mistral reinforces TCS’ commitment to scaling enterprise AI with trust, control, and measurable business outcomes at the core,” Krithivasan said. “Together with Mistral, we will solve for specific industry challenges regulatory requirements, and sovereign needs for our enterprise customers.”

TCS added that the alliance is part of its broader “Infrastructure to Intelligence” AI strategy, under which the company is investing across AI infra, models, data platforms, and enterprise intelligence systems as it seeks to become the world’s largest AI-led technology services company.

TCS also partners with other frontier labs to deploy OpenAI’s Codex and Google’s Gemini Enterprise.
