The company has seen a significant uptick in the adoption of its product, Claude, across various global enterprises. This growth has led to a run-rate revenue surpassing $47 billion, reflecting the increasing reliance on Claude for everyday operations.

Krishna Rao, CFO of Anthropic, emphasized the importance of Claude, stating that it is becoming essential for their expanding customer base. The funding will enable Anthropic to address the historic demand while remaining at the forefront of research.

Notably, the round also included $15 billion from previously committed investments by hyperscalers, with Amazon contributing $5 billion.
Strategic partnerships with infrastructure providers like Micron, Samsung, and SK hynix are also pivotal. These collaborations will ensure reliable scaling of compute resources as demand for Claude continues to rise.
Recent Developments: Anthropic has significantly increased its compute capacity, signing agreements with major tech firms:
- Amazon for up to five gigawatts of new capacity
- Google and Broadcom for five gigawatts of next-generation TPU capacity
- SpaceX for GPU capacity access
Claude is now available on all three major cloud platforms: Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, with AWS being the primary cloud provider.
