The initiative is designed to take industry-relevant training to smaller cities and districts, with a focus on bridging the gap between talent and employment opportunities at the local level, the IT/BT department said in a statement.
LEAP is a flagship initiative focussed on strengthening local economies by enabling tech skilling, fostering entrepreneurship, and expanding opportunities beyond urban centres.
Selected institutions will conduct training camps in collaboration with industry partners, focussing on high-demand and emerging technology areas, said the statement.
The camps aim to equip students and young professionals with practical, job-ready skills while promoting local enterprise development.
Reputed educational institutions, centres of excellence, and research organisations, including those under central and state governments, as well as private universities, are eligible to apply, the statement added.
The initiative is expected to strengthen local skilling ecosystems, enhance industry-academia linkages, support startups, and drive inclusive growth across Karnataka. The statement further added that interested institutions can access the application form on the official website and submit their applications online. The last date is May 5, 2026.
