Snabbit, known for its instant house help services, has ventured into the beauty industry by introducing a salon-at-home service. This new offering connects customers with trained beauty professionals in a matter of minutes, aiming to enhance convenience and speed in the beauty services market.
The service was piloted in Bengaluru's Sarjapur micromarket, where it successfully completed over 2,000 jobs in just six weeks, boasting an impressive average response time of under 15 minutes.
Why This Matters
Aayush Agarwal, the founder and CEO of Snabbit, highlighted the significant overlap between beauty services and the company's existing home help category. He noted the growing consumer expectation for convenience in all aspects of life, including beauty services, which often involve lengthy wait times.
Funding and Growth
This expansion follows a successful funding round in which Snabbit raised $56 million, co-led by Susquehanna Venture Capital, Unicorn Growth Fund, and Bertelsmann India Investments. The funding has bolstered the company's valuation to $350 million, nearly double its previous valuation.
Competitive Landscape
In the on-demand beauty services sector, Snabbit will compete against established players such as Urban Company, Dazzl, and Zivora. Currently, the service employs 25 active beauty professionals, all women with experience ranging from 3 to 14 years, and they are completing an average of 50 jobs daily.
Future Prospects
As Snabbit continues to grow its service offerings, it aims to further enhance the customer experience by focusing on speed, reliability, and local fulfillment. The company previously piloted home cooking services in Bengaluru, indicating a broader strategy to expand its home service portfolio.
In April, Snabbit processed between 1.1 and 1.15 million orders, closely trailing Urban Company, which recorded 1.2 to 1.3 million orders.
