Speaking at a workshop organised by the IndiaAI Mission, she said the CoE could help bring together government, industry, startups, and academic institutions to develop scalable AI solutions and policy frameworks, according to a press release issued by the government.
The proposed centre is expected to focus on governance-oriented use cases, including public service delivery, multilingual technologies, grievance redressal systems, and citizen-facing platforms.
Rajneesh said the state government is already deploying AI across areas such as attendance management, multilingual document summarisation, and administrative systems through the Karnataka AI Cell under the Centre for e-Governance.
Her comments come as states and the centre step up efforts to build infrastructure and governance frameworks under the broader IndiaAI Mission.
The statement also stressed the need for safeguards around privacy, accountability, and fairness as AI adoption expands across government functions.
