How to Monitor WhatsApp Chats without Your Children Finding Out

Do you sometimes worry about what goes on in your kid’s smartphone? Because I do. It’s one thing to give them privacy and personal space, but it’s another thing altogether to let them use a smartphone and the internet without any form of mediation. So yes, I do worry when my daughter has been tapping away on her phone all day. And I’m also sure that when I ask to go through her phone, she switches tabs, or deletes the shady stuff. This is why I have secretly installed XNSPY on her phone so I can monitor WhatsApp chats more closely, because that’s what I worry about the most.

Monitoring WhatsApp chats is a fairly simple process, but if you’re new to this, let me give you a walkthrough.

Track Whatsapp Chats

Step 1: Installing XNSPY

The app that I use to keep an eye on my daughter is called XNSPY. It has a lot of features that can monitor calls, SMS, internet usage, GPS location and many more. I just wanted WhatsApp monitoring, but you will be able to find a package suitable for you as well.

I got the XNSPY Premium Edition and it only cost me $16.99 so I’d say it was a pretty fair deal.

Once you’ve bought the app, you’ve got to physically install it on your child’s phone. I know this one is the tricky bit but trust me, once you’ve got it done, it will all be worth it.

Step 2: Toggle WhatsApp On

Now that you’ve got the app installed and working, you will be able to access the XNSPY control panel. Here, you’ll be able to see all the features that got in the package. But we’re specifically looking to spy WhatsApp chats, so you need to make sure that the WhatsApp feature is toggled on. If this button is toggled off, you will NOT be able to obtain data from your target phone.

Step 3: Using the WhatsApp Monitoring Feature

After the feature has been toggled on, there is a lot that you can do. Ideally, you will be able to view

  • All the WhatsApp group chats
  • All the WhatsApp individual chats
  • All WhatsApp contacts
  • All WhatsApp photos

However, this can crowd your control panel. So unless you are truly looking to monitor every WhatsApp chat on your kid’s phone here is another thing you can do. You can put certain contacts and words on your Watchlist. For example, if you think your daughter’s friend Ben is bad news, put Ben on your Watchlist. In this way, you’ll get a notification any time she has a WhatsApp conversation with Ben.

In the same way, if you only want to be notified when your kids talk about certain things, you can put your buzzwords on the Watchlist too. These words could be ‘club’ or ‘weed’ or ‘drunk’, or whatever makes you think your kid needs to stay away from.

Step 4: Be the Digital Parent

Your decision to monitor WhatsApp chats should not be a one-time thing. You need to consistently keep an eye on what your kids are doing on their smartphones. Installing XNSPY is easy, and it helps you be that responsible digital parent.
